How to Study Discover Canada Without Rereading the Whole Guide

Discover Canada is the official study guide for the Canadian citizenship test, and it's long. You don't need to memorize it page by page — you need to know which chapters carry the most test weight.
Where questions concentrate
- Rights and responsibilities of citizenship — consistently tested, including the responsibilities specific to voting and jury duty
- How Canadians govern themselves — federal, provincial, and municipal structure, plus the role of the monarchy
- Canadian history — Confederation, the World Wars, and the development of the ten provinces and three territories
- Who we are — Indigenous peoples, French and English heritage, and Canada's diversity
A study approach that works
- Read one chapter of Discover Canada at a time.
- Immediately take a CanadaPass practice set covering just that chapter.
- Note which questions you missed and reread only that section.
- Move to the next chapter once you're above 90% on the current one.
This mirrors how the official test is actually written — questions map closely to specific Discover Canada sections rather than general knowledge of Canada.
